Using RankLadder

Understand lead scores and hot leads

Every call and chat gets a 1 to 5 lead score, and scores of 4 or 5 get the hot lead badge. Learn how scoring works and how to set your own criteria.

On the Pro and Scale plans (and during the trial), the AI scores every call and website chat from 1 to 5. Scores of 4 or 5 get a flame badge marking them as hot leads, so the callers most likely to become paying customers stand out in your Inbox.

How scoring works

Right after each call or chat, the AI reads what happened and assigns a score:

  • 5. A hot lead: urgent need, ready to buy, asking for a quote.
  • 3. Worth a follow-up, but no strong buying signals.
  • 1. Not a sales opportunity, like a wrong number or a vendor.

Out of the box, scoring runs on urgency, intent, and budget signals from the conversation. A caller who says "my water heater burst, can someone come today?" scores high. A caller asking what time you close scores low.

Where scores show up

  • In the Inbox list. The score sits on each conversation row, and hot leads carry the flame badge.
  • Inside a conversation. The score appears with a one-line reason under the summary, so you can see why the AI rated it that way.
  • In sorting. The Hottest leads sort in the Inbox puts your highest scores on top. Start your morning there.

Use your own criteria

You can tell the AI what a hot lead means for your business:

  1. Open Anders → Handling → Lead Scoring.
  2. Choose between two modes:
    • RankLadder handles it. The default. Scores on urgency, intent and budget signals.
    • Custom. You write the rules.
  3. With Custom selected, pick an industry under Start from a template if you want a head start, then edit the text until it sounds like your business. Plain English works best: "A 5 is a homeowner with a burst pipe or no hot water. A 1 is a solicitor or a job applicant."
  4. Click Save lead scoring.

New calls and chats are scored against your criteria from then on. Check the one-line reason on the next few conversations to see how your wording lands, and tune it.

Before you begin

  • Lead scoring is included on the Pro and Scale plans, and on the trial. On Starter, the Lead Scoring tab shows an upgrade note instead.
  • Only owners and managers can change scoring settings.
