Give the AI instructions about a specific caller
Add per-caller instructions on a contact card so your AI treats that person the right way on every call. Private notes stay hidden from the AI.
You can give your AI standing instructions about one specific person. Type them into the Instructions for your AI field on their contact card, and the AI follows them on every call from that person.
Before you begin
- The person needs a contact card. If they aren't saved yet, open one of their conversations and tap Add to contacts, or create them with New contact.
Steps
- Open Contacts.
- Pick the person from the list. Their card opens.
- Find the field Instructions for your AI.
- Type your instructions. For example: "VIP, transfer to Dave immediately. Prefers Spanish."
- Tap Save. You'll see Saved when it's stored.
What happens next
The instructions apply starting with that person's next call. The AI reads them every time it answers a call from their number, so use them for things like:
- "Always transfer this caller to Sam."
- "This is our landlord, take a message and mark it urgent."
- "Prefers Spanish."
To change or remove the instructions, edit the field and tap Save again.
Notes stay private
The Notes field on the same card is different. Notes are private to you and your team. Your AI never sees them. Put anything you don't want spoken or acted on in Notes, and anything the AI should act on in Instructions for your AI.
There's also a Memory section on the card. That's what the AI remembers on its own from past calls. Your instructions always take priority over memory.
If it does not work
- Make sure you tapped Save and saw Saved appear.
- Instructions only apply to calls from this contact's phone number. If the person calls from a different number, the AI can't match them to the card.
