Use AI website chat on WordPress
Enable RankLadder AI chat on WordPress and choose exactly where the launcher appears.

What you need
- RankLadder for WordPress connected with an
rl_wp_key. - Any active paid plan. The trial also includes 25 AI chat replies.
- Website Chat turned on under Receptionist → Website Chat in RankLadder.
Turn on chat for WordPress
- In RankLadder, open Receptionist → Website Chat.
- Turn on chat and finish the brand, greeting, and AI behavior settings.
- In WordPress, open Settings → RankLadder.
- Under AI chat, choose Entire site, Only selected pages, or Everywhere except selected pages.
- If you chose a page-based option, select the published pages.
- Select Save preferences.
- Open a matching public page in a private browser window and test the launcher.
The WordPress visibility rule affects only AI chat. Booking, review, and call blocks remain exactly where you placed them.
What visitors experience
The plugin loads the same RankLadder widget used by the universal website installation. Visitors can ask the AI a question or send a message to the business. AI answers use enabled RankLadder knowledge, and conversations arrive in the unified RankLadder inbox.
When a visitor asks for the team or the AI cannot continue, the existing conversation can move into the human message experience without losing its history.
If the launcher does not appear
- Confirm the RankLadder plan is active.
- Confirm Website Chat is enabled in RankLadder.
- Confirm the public page matches the WordPress visibility rule.
- Wait up to five minutes for the plugin configuration to refresh.
- Check whether a cache, optimization plugin, or Content-Security-Policy is serving an old page or blocking
