Customize how your chat widget looks

You can make the chat widget look like part of your website. Set its color, logo, optional visitor-facing label, and opening message under Anders → Channels → Website chat. A live preview shows every change as you make it. The visitor-facing label is separate from Anders's identity inside RankLadder.

Before you begin

• You need the Owner or Manager role.
• The widget must be turned on. If you haven't set it up yet, start with Install the chat widget on your site.

Steps

1. Open Anders → Channels → Website chat.
2. Open the Customization tab. The Live preview pane sits alongside the settings and updates as you go.
3. In Set your brand, set the basics:
   • Logo: click Upload logo. PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 1MB. Square images look best. It shows at the top of the chat window; without one, that space simply collapses.
   • Assistant name: what the chat assistant calls itself. Leave it blank to use your AI agent's name.
   • Brand color: pick one of the preset colors, or use the custom color picker to match your exact brand color.
4. In Welcome content, write what visitors see first:
   • Headline message and Intro: the text on the welcome screen. Leave a field blank to use the default.
   • Opening message: the first message every visitor sees, in your words. Your assistant is always labeled as an AI in the chat window, so this text is fully yours.
   • Starter questions: up to three tappable questions shown before the visitor's first message.
5. In Experience and Launcher, fine-tune the look:
   • Layout: Welcome cards or Inbox tabs (recommended).
   • Corner radius, Chat bubble icon, Chat bubble shape, and Minimize icon.
6. Check your work in the Live preview. Use Preview state to flip between the Welcome, Ask AI, Messages, and Handoff views.

Remove the RankLadder branding

On the Scale plan, you can remove the "Powered by RankLadder" line from the bottom of the widget. In the Advanced card, turn on Hide "Powered by RankLadder". On other plans this option shows as available on Scale.

What happens next

Your changes go live on your website on their own. You never need to touch the embed code; it stays the same no matter how the widget looks.

If it does not work

• If your site still shows the old look, reload the page. If your website platform uses a cache, clear it.
• If your logo won't upload, check that it's a PNG, JPEG or WebP under 1MB.
