Sync knowledge and add structured data

Turn public WordPress content into reviewable AI knowledge and add LocalBusiness and FAQ data to your homepage.

RankLadder for WordPress connects your public website content to two separate tools: knowledge sync for your AI and structured data for search engines. Neither tool requires AI website chat.

Sync website knowledge manually

  1. In WordPress, open Settings → RankLadder.
  2. Select Sync website knowledge now.
  3. Wait for the success message, then select Review drafts in RankLadder.
  4. Under Receptionist → Knowledge, review each suggested answer or instruction.
  5. Edit anything that needs context, then enable only the knowledge you approve.

RankLadder crawls the public website from its homepage. It saves only new suggestions as disabled drafts. Matching knowledge is skipped, and existing approved knowledge is never overwritten.

Turn on automatic sync

Under Settings → RankLadder, turn on Website knowledge sync and save your preferences.

When a public WordPress post or page is published or updated, the plugin waits five minutes after the most recent change and schedules one background sync. This debounce prevents a series of edits from launching a crawl for every save.

Only publishing or updating an ordinary public post or page schedules automatic sync. These changes do not schedule it:

  • Draft, private, trashed, and password-protected content.
  • Revisions and autosaves.
  • Products and other custom post types.
  • WordPress admin screens and database content that is not public on the site.

When a sync runs, the plugin sends RankLadder the public site URL, not your WordPress password or raw database. RankLadder then visits the same publicly reachable pages a normal website visitor can open.

What structured data is added

On the WordPress homepage, the plugin adds server-rendered schema.org JSON-LD based on your current RankLadder configuration.

The LocalBusiness information can include:

  • Business name, description, and category.
  • Public address and phone number.
  • Opening hours you configured.
  • The latest Google rating and review count when Google Business Profile is connected.

If you have enabled question-and-answer knowledge, RankLadder can also add an FAQPage node containing those approved questions and answers.

Structured data is independent of AI chat. Turning either feature off does not disable the other.

Keep the information accurate

Update each field at its source:

  • Change business details and hours in RankLadder.
  • Fix Google rating or location problems under Settings → Workspace → Connections → Google Business Profile.
  • Edit or disable FAQ answers under Receptionist → Knowledge.

WordPress caches the safe RankLadder configuration for five minutes. A recent change may not appear immediately.

Structured data helps search engines understand a page; it does not guarantee a rich result or a ranking improvement. Search engines decide whether and how to use it.

If sync does not complete

  • Confirm Settings → RankLadder shows Connected and lists Website knowledge sync as available.
  • Confirm the RankLadder subscription is current.
  • Make sure the public homepage loads without a login, maintenance screen, or firewall challenge.
  • Wait five minutes before repeating a recent sync; RankLadder throttles duplicate requests.
  • If automatic sync is delayed, confirm WordPress scheduled events can run. Low-traffic sites may execute scheduled work later than the exact five-minute mark.

Manual sync remains available if the background event has not run.
